Features: Selected English-Chinese Medical Vocabulary is the sister volume of Selected Chinese-English Medical Vocabulary. With the advancement of medical science and the increasing frequency of international exchanges, the use of English has become more prevalent. This book is designed to meet the needs of medical and healthcare professionals at the intermediate level and above, medical students, and translators. It contains over 40,000 entries, all annotated with the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). With it, you can not only conveniently and correctly pronounce English medical terms but also find their corresponding Chinese translations. To ensure the selected vocabulary is up-to-date, standardized, practical, and accurate, reference was made to multiple medical dictionaries. Chinese medical terms are primarily based on the medical terminology published by the National Natural Science Terminology Committee up to 1996. The proportion of the selected vocabulary is 60% clinical medicine, 20% basic medicine, 10% pharmacology, and 10% commonly used medical terms and phrases. The English vocabulary included in this book originates from multiple languages. Only pronunciations are provided, with no source notes. Those interested can refer to relevant books to trace the origins and conduct further research. This book has three appendices. We hope this book will be helpful to those engaged in medical English learning, translation, and communication.
