Features: Among the various fields of Chinese chronological history research, the Yuan Dynasty is an international project. This is because the historical activities of the Mongol people during this period hold significant global importance. The Yuan Dynasty, which established its capital in what is now Beijing, not only achieved the unification of the nation but also expanded outward, reaching as far as Eastern Europe today. It established the Chagatai, Golden Horde, and Ilkhanate, among others. These empires had a profound impact on the historical development of various ethnic groups in these regions and advanced the internal and external exchanges of China's traditional political economy and intellectual culture to a higher and broader level. Therefore, to comprehensively understand and research the history of the Yuan Dynasty and the activities of the Mongol people, it is necessary to refer to historical documents beyond traditional records. The author of this book, a renowned orientalist, wrote this monumental work in French, drawing upon a vast amount of Arabic and Persian historical sources. It not only provides a detailed account of the activities of the Mongol people in Central Asia, West Asia, and Europe but also offers rich reference materials for the study and application of traditional works such as the History of the Yuan Dynasty. As a result, it has received high praise and widespread use from scholars both in China and abroad.
