Features: This series of books was initially compiled by selecting more than 30 important ancient Chinese classics, divided into 20 volumes. It covers five categories: philosophical classics, literary masterpieces, military strategies, elementary education materials, and life wisdom. The selected works are the essence of traditional Chinese culture, reflecting the extraordinary charm of ancient Chinese culture from one perspective. This series is aimed at the general public. On one hand, it chooses content closely related to modern people's lives, while also striving to provide concise annotations and translations of the selected texts with lively illustrations to help readers grasp the meaning and spirit. The overall organization and explanations of this series have been refined through the efforts of numerous experts and scholars over the years. Based on fully absorbing current research achievements, it also incorporates the compilers' own interpretations, with many sections reflecting the compilers' unique insights. Mr. Mei Gong, renowned in his generation, held high aspirations and was a prolific writer. He once compiled The Solitary Window in Seclusion for his own enjoyment. Gathering the secrets of the universe and selecting the essence of history and classics, his words carried the charm of mist and clouds, harmonizing with the resonance of jade and stone. He awakened the world and upheld its values, every word revealing profound wisdom. With his brush, he created a lively breeze, directly seizing the seat of elegant conversation; with his words, he crafted exquisite phrases, often sparking brilliant literary expressions. His style was dignified yet playful, elegant yet warm, beautiful in every aspect, and extraordinary in every way. Could it be that his words were without substance, merely serving as filler for jars? Cui Weidong of Xuchang, a knowledgeable and scholarly man, wished to publish this work to share it with fellow enthusiasts and asked me to write a preface. Therefore, without hesitation, I have written this brief introduction for the front cover. In the spring of the 35th year of the Qianlong reign (), I, Chen Benjing of Changping, wrote this preface at Xie Qingtang in Juxing Academy.
