Features: The Guqin, this ancient Chinese instrument, which is currently the only one included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list, has not become a revered object placed on a pedestal for admiration. Instead, it is regarded as a living, tangible instrument that exists in our daily lives, and is increasingly recognized, appreciated, and loved by more and more people. All of this stems from the vibrant life force inherent in the Guqin. Despite enduring over three millennia of historical refinement, the music it expresses, the spirit it conveys, and its unique temperament are always inspiring people with increasingly fast-paced lives: to pause for a moment in the pursuit of ideals and the release of hopes, to turn back and appreciate the traditions left behind, and to cherish the precious gifts passed down by our ancestors. This book was created with the aim of greatly assisting all Guqin beginners in laying a solid and firm foundation for Guqin playing. Following the three main tones of the Guqin as its guiding thread, it explains the fundamental knowledge and techniques required for learning the instrument, progressing from the right hand to the left, from simple to complex. The first four chapters focus on the explanation and training of basic techniques, with practice pieces to help learners reinforce the fundamental fingerings they have learned. The final chapter selects and compiles Guqin pieces based on their depth, difficulty, and practical examination levels, providing readers with supplementary material for course reinforcement and practice. However, due to personal limitations, there may be many shortcomings and omissions in this book. We sincerely hope that experts, peers, and all Guqin enthusiasts will offer criticism and corrections.
