Features: In recent decades, with the improvement of living standards and the enhancement of environmental awareness, environmental greening and beautification have become a pursuit of the general public. Currently, many professionals from the fields of architecture, civil engineering, horticulture, school students, or those aspiring to work in landscape design have joined the ranks of learning. Ornamental plants are one of the important elements of landscape design. How to select plants and plan their proper application is a challenging issue for designers.
This book took more than 5 years from planning to publication. The author traveled extensively at home and abroad to find real-life scenes of famous landscape works, enduring numerous difficulties: First, although there are many excellent garden designs abroad, the plants planted in them mostly cannot adapt to growth in Taiwan and cannot serve as reference examples. Another reason is that there are also many outstanding landscape works in Taiwan, but most lack long-term maintenance or are surrounded by a messy environment, lacking aesthetic appeal, making them unsuitable for photography. Particularly, beautiful landscapes are often devastated by strong winds and heavy rains, causing flowers and leaves to fall, leaving them in ruins. Therefore, beautiful landscapes are fleeting! To capture a moment of eternity is not easy. This book took a lot of time to compile and is truly hard-earned.
This book includes over 500 photographs of real garden scenes, recording various important data on the application of landscape plants in garden design through concise text.
This book introduces commonly used garden plants, landscape design methods, plant layout methods, color schemes, and garden design examples. Although the content of this book is compiled based on the regional and climatic conditions of Taiwan Province, the plants selected in the book are not only suitable for growth in Taiwan but also the vast majority of them are suitable for cultivation in South China and East China. To enhance the reference value of this book, we have provided supplementary information on some plants that require greenhouse overwintering in East China, to help readers judge which varieties are suitable for local cultivation and which cannot be grown outdoors in the region. Readers in northern China can draw inspiration from the landscape design methods, plant layout methods, color schemes, height and height matching, and shaping design in this book.
