Dian Orchid Initial Identification

Publish Date: 2001-09-01
Features: Since its release in 1992, A Preliminary Identification of Yunnan Orchids has been in print for over nine years, with six reprints and a total circulation exceeding 70,000 copies. It has been widely welcomed by orchid enthusiasts across the country. The period following the book's publication coincided with the golden era of China's reform and opening-up, during which the country achieved unprecedented, comprehensive, and rapid economic development. This undoubtedly provided an excellent market space for the growth of China's orchid industry, with its depth and breadth reaching unprecedented levels. As a result, orchid books published nine years ago now appear somewhat outdated. A Preliminary Identification of Yunnan Orchids is no exception, particularly its color photographs, which seem particularly crude. Feedback from readers indicates a strong desire for a revised and reprinted edition. This is mainly because the book is highly suitable for those new to the orchid world, with its readability, practicality, and hands-on approach all widely praised. Fortunately, this opportunity aligns with the 2001 National Book Fair being held in Kunming, and Yunnan Science and Technology Publishing House was also planning to revise the book. This coincides perfectly with my own long-standing aspirations.
