Features: In the 1980s, China implemented the reform and opening-up policy, and those Chinese who were sensitive to oil painting went to Europe or the United States. They brought back comprehensive information about oil painting from the West, from traditional European oil painting art to modern avant-garde oil painting expression, all of which were introduced to China holistically. However, regarding Japanese oil painting, which is relatively distant from China, we know very little or only scattered bits of information. Now, after two years of joint effort by the author and his wife, this book fills this gap. Through this book, we can systematically and comprehensively understand the appearance and development process of Japanese oil painting, which will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the development of Chinese oil painting. Since oil painting is an imported art form for both Japan and China, both face the issue of nationalization. How Japan has addressed this issue can serve as a reference for China. In this book, one can sense the cultural context of the development of contemporary Japanese oil painting, and it also reflects the author's comprehensive understanding level of contemporary Japanese oil painting.
