Features: The key issue in moral education is the relativity of values: Are there universal values that children should possess? Our answer to this question is based on recent psychological research findings. These findings indicate that there are universal stages of moral development across different cultural contexts. These results help us develop a philosophy of moral education that views it as fostering moral development rather than directly imparting fixed moral principles. Therefore, we propose a moral education theory that is both psychological and philosophical.
