Features: The book includes nearly 100 images, a significant portion of which are from the author's personal art collection. Among them, the most valuable are two landscape paintings by Lin Qin'an from the late Qing Dynasty. Lin Qin'an was a very unique figure among Chinese literati. Although he did not know foreign languages, he translated a large number of world literary masterpieces. He was impacted by the May Fourth New Culture Movement for opposing vernacular Chinese. However, the influence of his poems, prose, and translations has continued to this day, while his paintings have always been rare. These two paintings depict a secluded pavilion with old trees and rocks, and a riverside with willows in autumn. The brushwork is simple yet delicate. The left image is another excellent work in the book, a painting titled "Girl and Deer" by the contemporary artist Cheng Shifan, gifted to the author. The dynamic brushwork and rich colors reflect the artist's love and passion. The youthful atmosphere in the painting is even more uplifting.
