Features: Routers hide the precision core of the global network; they must work together with extremely complex routing protocols in short time to find the best path for packet transmission. Routing protocols may determine paths based on abstract algorithms, and in the highly variable environment of networks, routers must possess strong capabilities and flexibility. Cisco is the leading manufacturer of routers, and Cisco IOS (Internetworking Operating System) has almost become the universal operational environment for router settings. This book discusses the evolution and principles of routing protocols, with a focus on the IP protocol that constitutes the Internet. The content includes:
· Differences between routers and switches, bridges
· Configuration of internal routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, EIGRP)
· Cisco IOS commands
· Various routing protocols, including static and dynamic routing
· Security issues of routers
· External routing protocols (BGP)
· Troubleshooting router problems
