Features: This book is designed and compiled based on the New Graduate Entrance Examination Vocabulary List issued by the Ministry of Education, while also referencing the vocabulary lists for current master's degree English proficiency exams, doctoral degree English proficiency exams, the core vocabulary lists for the College English Test Band 4 and 6 (CET-4 and CET-6), and the basic stage vocabulary list for English majors in higher education institutions. Additionally, it incorporates vocabulary from the actual English test questions in previous years' graduate entrance exams, supplemented and organized to address the principles of English test setting for graduate entrance exams. This book offers strong targeting, guidance, and expansion for the master's degree entrance exam (as merely mastering the 5,300 words listed in the exam is insufficient). The primary research topic of this book is how to cope with the current trend of entrance exams that ostensibly do not test vocabulary but, in reality, demand a higher level of vocabulary proficiency. The book primarily targets students with intermediate or above English proficiency, combining scientific methods of English language learning and scientific methods of English language testing. It emphasizes practicality, targeting, representativeness, and typicality in the actual English exam for graduate entrance exams. The book's innovative design concept is as follows: words from the exam vocabulary list are categorized into four sections: 1. Main meanings, usage, and sentence patterns; 2. Other usages; 3. Other forms; 4. Synonyms. The writing features are as follows: 1. Typical and frequently tested meanings, usage, and sentence patterns are based on the exam vocabulary and phrases, integrating their basic meanings, basic collocations, usage, and basic sentence patterns. Through the additional international phonetic symbols and typical example sentences (with Chinese translations) for each usage, the book helps candidates remember new words while mastering their meanings, usage, and sentence patterns through pronunciation. 2. Phrase collocations focus on the common basic meanings and collocations of words listed in the exam vocabulary list beyond their primary meanings, extending the understanding of word meanings and collocations to enhance practicality in exams. 3. Expansion memory takes the basic forms of the word as the radiation source, combining word formation rules and knowledge to list other derivative words related to the word, enabling candidates to expand their vocabulary, master word formation rules, and improve their ability to recognize and use words. 4. Synonym clever memory lists synonyms corresponding to the word's meanings, allowing candidates to combine the word with its synonyms for memory, strengthening the connections between words and expanding vocabulary.
