Features: Civil law is renowned as the "mother of all laws," and its principles and legal provisions have evolved over thousands of years to achieve a high degree of abstraction. However, civil law is also the law that is most closely tied to the norms of real-life. Learning and studying civil law theory and rules require an in-depth analysis and research of relevant civil law cases. Analyzing and studying civil law cases not only deepens the understanding of civil law theory and rules but also enhances the ability to apply them to analyze and solve practical problems. Additionally, the issues revealed in complex and challenging cases prompt us to reflect on the contemporary demands of civil law theory and rules, thereby facilitating continuous revision and improvement of civil law theory and civil legislation. The primary readers of this book are undergraduate students majoring in law at universities, and it can also be used by postgraduate students in civil and commercial law for studying and researching civil law. In compiling this book, we followed the following principles: (1) Arranging the content primarily according to the structure and sequence of civil law textbooks to facilitate students' learning and research; (2) Advocating moderation and appropriate complexity in case selection, which helps students grasp fundamental civil law principles while inspiring deeper reflection on related civil law systems; (3) In the commentary section, covering relevant concepts, principles, and legal interpretations as much as possible, closely integrating theory with practice. It should be specially noted that, due to the vastness of civil law theory and the complexity of social life, as well as differences in value judgments and theoretical perspectives, the views in the commentary section may reflect the subjective perspectives of the authors. Moreover, due to the limitations of our expertise, the commentary on cases may be incomplete in theory and depth. If this book contains errors or omissions, we sincerely welcome criticism and corrections from the readers.
