Features: This book comes with a CD-ROM, which can serve as both a computer-aided teaching aid for teachers and a multimedia software for self-study by students. The CD-ROM not only creates PowerPoint presentation documents of the main content in the book, making it convenient for readers to quickly find the content of each chapter, but also provides a large number of executable applications to help deepen readers' understanding of the book's knowledge. It also assists in data processing and simulation for chemical and chemical engineering experiments. This book is a practical basic tutorial on the application of computers in chemical and chemical engineering. The entire book is divided into three parts and 12 chapters.
Part 1 (Chapters 1–5) introduces how to use the high-speed and precise computational capabilities of computers to solve practical problems in chemical and chemical engineering. This includes: how to use computers to solve experimental data processing and model parameter calculations; how to use computers to solve nonlinear equations that cannot be solved analytically; methods for solving large linear equation sets in chemical engineering and computer calculations; how to use computers to solve ordinary differential equations and chemical engineering steady-state simulations; and the application of partial differential equations in chemical engineering and chemical engineering dynamic simulations. Each chapter is explained with the help of chemical engineering examples and is accompanied by debugged VB programs for readers to use.
Part 2 (Chapters 6–9) introduces the practical applications of four software—Office, Origin, AutoCAD, and AspenPLUS—in chemistry.
Part 3 (Chapters 10–12) introduces three chemical engineering application software examples developed using computers: heat exchanger design, a chemical engineering database query system, and a chemical workshop computer monitoring system. All of these are accompanied by debugged programs.
This book can be used as a computer application textbook for undergraduate and college students in chemical and chemical engineering, as well as a reference for chemical and chemical engineering application technicians.
