Author: Harold Innes
Publisher:
Publication Date: 2003-06-01
Features: Whether Harold Innes's works are easy to understand or not. But it is clear that once you try to read it, it is worth reading. Reading it in this way may take some time, but it still saves time. Every sentence of his is a condensed monograph. Every page of his book is a small library, often with a reference library as well. This book collects some slightly revised old articles. The purpose of the collection is to facilitate readers' reference and also to support the themes I proposed in Empire and Communication in a more detailed form. This book attempts to answer a question raised in a psychological article, in which Innes devotes a lot of space to describing the opposition between oral and written methods in the learning process. In the chapter The Critical Critic, he explains: "I tend to favor the oral tradition, especially the oral tradition reflected in Greek civilization. I believe it is necessary to grasp its spirit again."
