The journey of "Tianya Youzi" in the northwest starts in the ancient capital of Xi'an and ends in Tacheng, a city on the China-Soviet border in Xinjiang—beginning in autumn and ending in autumn. After completing this long journey across the heartland of China to the westernmost point, "Tianya Youzi" and his companions have also experienced the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter. This book is a "Westward Journey" written in the 1930s of this century. In traditional Chinese literature, the "Westward Journey" has always received special attention. Starting from Zhang Qian's "carving out a path," the ancient "Westward Journey" became a window for people to understand the Western Regions and, in turn, the world. According to historical records, both Zhang Qian himself and Ban Chao's son, Ban Yong, personally recorded their observations of the Western Regions and these accounts were passed down through the ages. In the "Bibliography" of the "Book of Sui," there is a recorded book titled "Zhang Qian's Journey Beyond the Pass," and the "Western Regions Biography" in the "Book of the Later Han" explicitly states that the content of the "Western Regions Biography" was compiled based on the observations recorded by "Ban Yong" in the late years of Emperor An of Han.
