Features: Children are the future of the motherland, and nurturing the next generation is the wish of every parent and teacher, as well as our inescapable responsibility. To meet the needs of various regions in developing abacus and mental arithmetic education and assisting parents in teaching their children, the Hubei Province Abacus Association, under the leadership of Li Peilin, Deputy Leader of the Hubei Province Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Education Leading Group, organized experienced professors and educators to compile a comprehensive popular teaching material for children's mental arithmetic education titled "Children's Abacus and Mental Arithmetic."
This teaching material has received positive reviews from all sectors of society across the country after a three-year trial period and is now officially published by Hubei People's Publishing House. "Children's Abacus and Mental Arithmetic" integrates knowledge, fun, science, and systematicity, featuring vivid illustrations and an engaging, educational approach, fully reflecting the characteristics of abacus and mental arithmetic teaching as well as early childhood education. It serves as an effective way to cultivate children's quality education.
The primary level of the teaching material focuses on abacus and mental arithmetic addition and subtraction within 10, where the concept of complements is directly integrated into the teaching of complements. The intermediate level emphasizes abacus and mental arithmetic for carrying addition and borrowing subtraction. The advanced level covers abacus and mental arithmetic for multiplication and division. To align with elementary school curricula, the multiplication section also introduces the method of calculating from the lower digits to the higher digits.
The compilation of the entire teaching material takes into account children's learning abilities, making it easy to understand and progressively structured in a scientific manner. This teaching material is suitable for children in the middle and upper classes of kindergartens, preschools, and primary schools, and is accompanied by teacher's guides and practice exercises.
