Little Devil Manifesto

Author: Zhao Weiqun
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2003-07-01
Features: This book is another themed comic collection by young cartoonist Zhao Weiqun, divided into two parts: "Little Demon's Declaration" and "Computer Mix-Up." These comic sections were created by the author after the success of "Family Ha-Ha Bible." It can be said that it features the same protagonist but tells two stories. If you include "Family Ha-Ha Mirror," it becomes three stories about the same protagonist. In recent years, Zhao Weiqun has published several themed comic collections, such as "Family Ha-Ha Bible," "Wry Retellings of Classics," and "White-Collar Colons." The current book depicts the lives of children under academic pressure and their longing for freedom, as well as the various weaknesses of "little demons" who grew up in affluent conditions. Using the form of comics, it humorously and exaggeratively expresses life as people often overlook it, providing laughter that brings relief. Those gentle satirical remarks, sharp yet subtle, make readers feel the author's wisdom—his meticulous observation of life, keen discovery of life, and humorous expression of life—in a relaxed and enjoyable reading experience. Some content from the "Little Demon's Declaration" section was previously published in publications like "Children's Comics" and "Shanghai Middle School Students' Newspaper," receiving warm acclaim from children. In contrast, "Computer Mix-Up" is slightly less engaging and vivid due to its computer-themed subject matter. However, overall, it still expresses the excitement and helplessness brought by computers entering daily life, making it trendy and interesting. Since "Family Ha-Ha Bible" and "Little Demon's Declaration," Zhao Weiqun has become a beloved cartoonist among children. This book is expected to continue to be well-received by them. Therefore, it is proposed to publish it.
