Features: Why Read This Book? When students study imaging and other radiology courses, when we step out of school and enter nuclear medicine and other radiology jobs, when industrial workers engage in radioactive work, and when patients undergo radioactive diagnostic examinations or radiotherapy, the first thought is often how much harm radiation poses to humans, what types of radiation exposure they may receive, how radiation acts on human tissues, and why radiation is so widely used across various industries. What are the characteristics and advantages of nuclear medicine diagnosis and treatment? How can one understand radiation and how to protect against it? How can we maximize benefits while minimizing harm and better serve humanity with radiation. This book systematically and comprehensively explains these issues.
Why was this book written? In the long-term practice of nuclear medicine and other radioactive work, we encounter various management and protection issues related to radioactive work, as well as consultations from people from all walks of life regarding radiation protection. Many medical colleges have established departments such as Preventive Medicine, Imaging, and Nuclear Medicine, where "Radiation Protection" has become one of the major professional courses. In our long-term teaching practice, we have struggled to find a systematic and teaching-appropriate textbook or book on "Radiation Protection." Therefore, we have compiled this book based on years of teaching experience, organizing professionals from major institutions across the country.
