Features: The author Guo Moruo (1892–1978), originally named Guo Kaizhen and styled as Shangwu, was a native of Leshan, Sichuan. He received early education at home and studied in Japan in 1914. In 1918, he began writing new poetry and founded literary groups such as Xia She and Chuangzao She. In 1926, he joined the Northern Expedition as the Deputy Director of the Political Department of the National Revolutionary Army. Later, he participated in the Nanchang Uprising and served as the Director of the Uprising Army's Political Department. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, he actively engaged in the anti-Japanese movement. In July 1949, he was elected as the Chairman of the All-China Federation of Literary and Art Circles. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he held positions such as Member of the Central People's Government, Vice Premier of the State Council, President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress, and Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He authored numerous works, which were later compiled into eight volumes of the "Historical Edition" of the Collected Works of Guo Moruo (People's Publishing House edition) and twenty volumes of the "Literary Edition" (People's Literature Publishing House edition). This play is distinctive and character-driven, reflecting the author's profound literary talent. It is worth reading.
