Habermas gave a lecture in China

Author: Institute of Philosophy, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences

Publish Date: 2002-11-01
Features: This collection includes five reports I delivered between April 16 and 29, 2001, at seven academic institutions in Beijing and Shanghai, at the invitation of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. These reports were published in the form of my speeches. When discrepancies arose between the revised and the originally prepared manuscripts, I based my additions and explanations on my notes. The report I gave at Renmin University of China in Beijing was the same as the one I previously delivered at Peking University on "Three Models of Democracy"; the report at Fudan University in Shanghai was the same as the one I previously gave at the Central Party School on globalization. For the report at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, I could not provide a manuscript because I gave a free speech on human rights there.
