Features: The main innovations of this book can be summarized in the following aspects:
First, it constructs the theoretical foundation for forming virtual teams from the perspectives of management, economics, and social psychology, providing a more comprehensive explanation of the causes and nature of virtual teams, thereby filling certain gaps in the theoretical research on the operational mechanisms of virtual teams both domestically and internationally. Second, it proposes that the organizational structure design of virtual teams should change traditional mindset patterns, breaking the conventional habit of first dividing functions and then combining them during organizational design, and instead follows a goal- and task-oriented organizational structure design approach of "Strategy → Structure → Process → Responsibilities," enriching the content of organizational theory. Third, it designs a recruitment process and selection procedure for virtual teams, providing operational procedures and methods to improve the performance of human resource management in virtual teams. Fourth, it suggests that the performance evaluation of virtual teams should be conducted at two levels: the overall level should use the Balanced Scorecard method, while the individual level of team members and team leaders should use the 360-degree feedback evaluation model. It also designs a specific process for virtual team performance evaluation, establishes an indicator system for virtual team performance evaluation, and provides practical tools for performance assessment in virtual teams. Fifth, based on the implementation research on the formation, organization, and operation of virtual teams in China, this book summarizes the key aspects that should be noted to improve the performance of virtual teams under the current existing conditions in China, demonstrating a certain degree of originality.
