Publishing Date: 2004-06-01
Features: Applying the stance, viewpoints, and methods of Marxism, this book conducts a systematic and in-depth analysis and research on neoliberalism, which is an important task facing the academic and theoretical circles, especially the economics community, in China today. In July 2003, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences formed the "Neoliberalism Research" Task Force to conduct a systematic analysis and research on neoliberalism. The "Neoliberalism Research Task Force" consists of 10 experts specializing in economic theory, Western economics, as well as Latin American issues, Russian issues, European issues, and U.S. issues. After nearly three months of collaborative efforts, the comprehensive research report titled Neoliberalism and Its Essence was completed in October of that year. To further promote research on neoliberalism in academia and to solicit feedback on the Task Force's research report Neoliberalism and Its Essence, the Task Force held three small-scale, series seminars on neoliberalism from December 2003 onwards. Over 70 experts and scholars from across the country who study neoliberalism attended the seminars, submitting more than 40 papers. Now, in line with the principle of "letting a hundred flowers bloom and a hundred schools of thought contend," 25 papers were selected from the conference papers and compiled for publication to serve the readers.
