Can a pocket hold the sun? No. The sun is vast, while the pocket is narrow and shallow. It's like a snake trying to swallow an elephant, bursting its belly. Can a pocket not hold the sun? Yes. The sun is rich, and the pocket is simple. Remove the complexity and retain the essence—the sun is originally not that big, easily fitting into the pocket with ease and composure. In fact, we see how many shriveled pockets dare not hold the blazing sun; how many shallow pockets cannot hold the blazing sun. They are either frozen stiff or scorched. Putting the sun in the pocket requires great quantity, great wisdom, and great skill: a vast and open-minded heart, extraordinary wisdom, and skillful techniques. The sun in the pocket becomes rich and simple—rich simplicity. Richness aids in thinking; simplicity facilitates action. Rich simplicity allows for both thinking and action, enabling great achievements. This book is a fine pocket, holding the entire sun of wisdom within.
