Features: After the former Central Academy of Arts and Crafts merged with Tsinghua University, it was renamed the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University. This book differs from general teaching materials in that, apart from the signed works, most of the works are by students who were guided by the author before the exam. It is more convincing. Sketching and drawing are not purely about methods and techniques, but also about the process of the artist's understanding of the subject and the improvement of aesthetic appreciation. Whether we have drawn general still lifes, plaster casts, or portraits in the past, we need a comprehensive understanding of the process. For example, the quality of the subject and the attributes of the object. With clear understanding and ideas, there will be a clear expression intention and expected effect of the painting. This ensures that the drawing process will not be chaotic or disrupt the step-by-step drawing order, meaning that the overall coherence of the picture must be maintained at every stage. Additionally, the entire process of sketching is one of observation and understanding, a logical analysis process. Its steps and drawing order gradually help students grasp that each stage of the picture should be harmonious. During the teaching and guidance process, I have continuously emphasized and reminded students to pay attention to the overall coherence of the picture. Sometimes, I would ask students to pause and place the drawing in front of them for a more complete comparison, guiding them to unconsciously apply the concept of holistic observation. Through continuous comparison, their ability to discern, express, and appreciate art has been improved.
