Features: Since its publication in 1978, the Chinese-English Dictionary has been widely favored by readers both at home and abroad. The revision work spanned 10 years, adding over 800 single-character entries and nearly 18,000 multi-character entries (including idioms, colloquialisms, proverbs, etc.). The Chinese-English Dictionary was compiled over eight years by dozens of experts from Beijing Foreign Studies University under the guidance of Chairman Mao Zedong and with the direct care of Premier Zhou Enlai, and was officially published in 1978.
