Features: This book consists of nine chapters, including four parts. The first part is based on an evaluation of trade-environment relationship theory, analyzing the international community's exploration of coordinating trade and environmental relationships in practice. The second part examines the trade-environment model of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). The third part analyzes the trade and environmental effects of NAFTA, with a focus on its impact on Mexico and an analysis of its experiences. The last part explores China's macro- and micro-strategies for expanding its market in North America, based on an analysis of NAFTA's impact on China.
Facing these challenges, China needs to adopt corresponding macroeconomic policies, which may include: fostering a green economy and green consumers; restructuring export products to enhance international competitiveness; seizing opportunities in the North American market; and advocating for China's rights in international cooperation. At the micro level, Chinese enterprises should seek opportunities in the environmental standards market of North America, with the crucial task of improving corporate competitiveness, particularly environmental competitiveness. By establishing a corporate green management model, enterprises can enhance their international competitiveness through green management, adapt to the environmental requirements and specific standards of the North American market, and proactively choose favorable export products.
