Features: The Yearbook of the World Economy is a comprehensive reference book that reflects the economic of countries and regions around the world, examines global economic trends, tracks the development of various economic sectors worldwide, and introduces the business operations of domestic and foreign enterprises. The Yearbook was first published in 1979. It has successively compiled and published volumes for the years 1979, 1981, 1982, 1983–1984, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999/2000, and 2001. This edition of the Yearbook includes 15 sections: Comprehensive Reports on the World Economy; National (Regional) Economies; International Economic Organizations and Activities; World Industry; World Agriculture; World Trade; International Finance; World Technology; World Tourism; World Environmental Protection; Business of Countries (Regions); Domestic and Foreign Industrial and Commercial Enterprises; Encyclopedia of the Chinese Economy; Window on the Chinese Economy; Statistical Compilation of the World Economy. The statistical data in the Yearbook is authoritative, primarily sourced from publications of the United Nations and other important international economic organizations, economic reports and official statistics of governments worldwide, as well as newspapers and periodicals from various countries. Systematic statistical data and some key data cited in the book are accompanied by references. Due to differences in the sources of statistical data for each section of the Yearbook, although efforts have been made to correct and unify them during the editorial process, inconsistencies may still occur. The Yearbook is sponsored by the Institute of World Economy and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and edited by the Editorial Department of the Yearbook of the World Economy.
