Features: This book uses Borland Delphi as an internship tool and compiles 16 progressive example programs. Readers can develop their own electronic map systems based on the algorithms discussed in the book. This book can serve as a textbook for computer cartography courses in geographic information systems or computer graphics majors, or as a reference for teachers, students, technicians, and software developers involved in geographic information systems or graphic software development. The book primarily introduces computer cartography techniques and programming methods for implementing electronic maps or digital maps. By combining new technologies such as object-oriented programming (OOP) and component-based programming, computer cartography functions are implemented using over 20 map object classes. These objects are then encapsulated into map components, which can be used for visual (visual) interface design in Delphi. The map components are further extended and converted into ActiveX map components to enable their use in other software development and usage environments. For example, the book introduces the application of ActiveX map controls in Visual Basic and Internet Explorer.
