Features: This book is a specialized archaeological report compiled based on the excavation results of two ancient tomb clusters in Batai and Hengdalu, Kizhi District, Qujing City, Yunnan Province. The Batai cemetery includes Bronze Age pit tombs and cremation tombs from the Song, Yuan, and Ming periods, while the Hengdalu cemetery is primarily a Bronze Age site. Both Bronze Age tombs date from the early Spring and Autumn period to the late Western Han period, spanning over 700 years. A large number of artifacts were unearthed, including pottery, bronze weapons, tools, utensils, and ornaments, iron tools and utensils, as well as lead, jade, agate, greenstone, amber, and stone artifacts. The cultural connotations are rich, presenting a historical panorama of the production and life of early residents on the red soil plateau in eastern Yunnan. The Bronze Age tombs at Batai and Hengdalu share similar characteristics and dates, and preliminary research suggests they belong to the "Batai-Hengdalu type" of the Dian culture. The cremation period at Batai dates approximately to the Song, Yuan, and Ming periods, lasting over 500 years, making it an important source for studying burial practices and religious customs during those times.
