This series aims to be a physics textbook for science and engineering students that keeps pace with modern technological advancements, focusing on scientific quality education, knowledge innovation education, and supporting modern high-tech industries. It is also China's first physics textbook series to reconstruct its structure under the concept of big science. The entire series consists of both written and software components. The written part comprises five volumes: Volume I: Theoretical Principles and Methods, Volume II: Material Science, Volume III: Selected Topics in Technology, Volume IV: Selected Topics in the History of Physics, and Volume V: Examples and Exercises. The first three volumes have already been published, and the fourth volume will be released by the end of 2001. The software component includes CAI demonstration software and a database. This series is suitable as a textbook for physics courses in non-physics major science and engineering programs at universities and colleges, as well as a reference for students and educators in various disciplines.
