Features: The Interactive Environmental Education Series is part of the project "Strengthening the Capacity of Environmental Education in Primary and Secondary Schools through the Development of Interactive Teaching Materials." It includes "The Interactive Environmental Education Teaching Guide," "The Interactive Environmental Education Reader," and "The Environmental Education Exchange Handbook." The project is funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), co-sponsored by UNESCO, implemented by the China International Economic and Technical Exchange Center, and carried out by the National Environmental Protection Administration, with support and guidance from the Ministry of Education. The participating organizations in the compilation include: the Institute of Environmental Science, Beijing Normal University, the Second Affiliated High School of Beijing Normal University, the Environmental Protection School of Changsha, Hunan, the Environmental Science Center of Peking University, and the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Nankai University.
To enhance the applicability, operability, and scientific rigor of the Interactive Environmental Education Series, UNESCO invited Dr. Philip Stimpson, Professor Xu Yunlin of the Environmental Science Center at Peking University, Dr. Lee Chi-kin of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Dr. Wang Min of the Department of Resources and Environmental Science, Beijing Normal University, Dr. Justin Dillen of the University of London, Professor He Xiangshan and Professor Lin Peiyin of Capital Normal University, Dr. Liao Hong of Nankai University, and Engineer Chen Yuehong of the Sediment Research Institute, Water Conservancy Science Academy to review the manuscript and provide suggestions for improvement, thereby further elevating the quality of the book.
This volume includes: an introduction to environmental education, writing instructions and teaching suggestions, as well as interactive teaching modules related to the content of the sub-series.
