Features: This book has the following characteristics in its content:
(1) It strives to prepare the necessary calculus fundamentals for professional courses in a timely manner;
(2) It includes knowledge that does not belong to the core of calculus in reading materials or post-section notes, aiming to reduce classroom teaching hours and cultivate students' reading skills;
(3) In the notes after relevant chapters, it selects basic knowledge of formal logic, with the purpose of teaching students learning methods and fostering their habit of correct thinking. Solutions, hints, or selected answers are provided after the exercises. This book is a calculus textbook written for the liberal arts and science majors of various university science and engineering disciplines. The entire book is divided into three parts:
(1) Calculus of Univariate Functions;
(2) Calculus of Multivariate Functions;
(3) Topics (for use by some science and engineering majors). It is divided into two volumes. The first volume explains the theory and methods of calculus of univariate functions in a logical and dialectical unity of historical and logical approaches, progressing from simple to complex. The second volume includes two parts of topics on calculus of multivariate functions. In the calculus of multivariate functions, it emphasizes the use of analogy methods and linear algebra knowledge to explain basic concepts, conclusions, and applications. The topics include:
(1) Uniform convergence of series of functions and its applications;
(2) Fourier series and Fourier integral formulas;
(3) Calculus of complex functions.
