Based on methods such as geographic cellular automata, qualitative and quantitative analysis of water and soil resource combinations, water and soil resource carrying capacity analysis, water and soil resource asset-liability analysis, historical analysis of water and soil resource development, discriminant analysis of socio-economic sustainable development, and the measurement of fractal theory and Zipf dimensions, guided by theories of sustainable development, comparative advantage, ecological function, latecomer advantage, and benefit and equity, the book explores the issues and countermeasures of Gansu's socio-economic sustainable development constrained by its fundamental water and soil resources, starting from the foundation of water and soil resources and regional functions.
