Features: This book is appropriately revised based on the previous edition, with significant changes, where many topics are almost completely rewritten, hence the title "newly revised." Due to this revision, the book has become larger, and it is published in two volumes. The first volume mainly includes the occurrence of obligations and the subject matter of obligations. The second volume includes the effects of obligations, joint and several debtors and creditors, the transfer of obligations, and the extinction of obligations. The format of this book largely maintains the style of the previous edition, but it still differs significantly from the old version. Four points deserve special mention: (1) From a methodological reflection, it strengthens the critical commentary on major controversial issues in the general theory of obligations; (2) rigorous exploration of the context and systematic construction of legal interpretation; (3) legal methodology, particularly the careful consideration and prudent application of teleological interpretation and analogy; (4) a meticulous review and specific examination of the amendments to the Obligations Chapter of the "Civil Code of the Taiwan Area." It is hoped that these four aspects will help readers gradually delve into the realm of obligations law. Regarding the amended articles of the Obligations Chapter of the "Civil Code of the Taiwan Area."
