Features: This textbook is designed for foreign students with intermediate Chinese proficiency as a listening skills course. It is divided into two parts: Text and Vocabulary & Exercises. The Vocabulary & Exercises section is for reference while listening to recordings. Teachers can guide students to compare it with the Text section to check their comprehension. The Text section is also provided for teachers to prepare lessons. The book consists of 24 lessons, grouped into 4 units with 6 lessons each. The last lesson of each unit is a unit review. Each lesson includes Vocabulary, Exercises, Text, and Notes. The vocabulary is limited to words outside Level D in the "Outline for Chinese Language Proficiency Vocabulary and Character Grades." The design of the exercises focuses on understanding specific vocabulary, sentences, and passages, as well as grasping implied meanings. The text includes self-composed or adapted articles from newspapers and magazines, as well as selected segments from television interviews, aiming to train students to understand natural, diverse spoken Chinese. The audio recordings for this book are published by Peking University Audiovisual Press.
