After restructuring, it was officially approved by the Ministry of Education as the third batch of key research bases for humanities and social sciences in ordinary universities in December 2000. The center is an interdisciplinary institution dedicated to studying Chinese culture, comprising the Comprehensive Research Room for Chinese Traditional Culture, the Research Room for Chinese Traditional Culture and Modernization, the Jingchu Culture Research Room, and the Editorial Office of "Humanities Series." It also publishes the journal "Humanities Series." Professor Xiao Xuanfu, a renowned expert in the history of Chinese philosophy, serves as the Center's Academic Advisor and Chairman of the Academic Committee, while Professor Feng Tianyu serves as the Director of the Center. Building upon the legacy of previous outstanding columns, this book emphasizes the introduction of two new sections: research on medieval history and the study of philosophical thought in unearthed bamboo slips and silk documents, demonstrating a profound sense of responsibility for humanities. The book also includes articles on music, folkloristics, and important translations in world Sinology. The two academic reviews in this issue provide detailed critiques on the application of historical anthropology theory in China and the study of Dai Zhen's thought in the 20th century.
