Features: Weightlifting has a long history in China and is a traditional sport. The Chinese women's weightlifting team has won the team championship at every World Women's Weightlifting Championships since 1987. The Chinese men's weightlifting team has won the team championship at the World Men's Weightlifting Championships in 1995 and 1997. Chinese weightlifters who have won Olympic weightlifting gold medals include Zeng Guoqiang, Wu Shude, Chen Weiqiang, Yao Jingyuan, Tang Lingsheng, Zhan Xugang, Yang Wei, Chen Xiaomin, Lin Weining, Ding Meiyuan, and others. With the continuous development of weightlifting in China, the country has been sending teams to participate in the World Weightlifting Championships, the Asian Weightlifting Championships, and other international weightlifting competitions every year. In recent years, China has hosted a series of international weightlifting competitions, especially after successfully securing the bid to host the 2008 Olympics, which has accelerated the need for China's weightlifting to fully align with international weightlifting. To achieve the Olympic Success Plan, promote the development of weightlifting in China, and adapt to the increasing number of international weightlifting competitions and the needs of international exchanges, the National Sports Administration has approved the use of the "Weightlifting Competition Rules" approved by the China Weightlifting Association and published by the People's Sports Publishing House in domestic and international weightlifting competitions held in China. The validity period of the rules is from the date of issuance until the new rules are published again.
