Features: The 20th Century Chinese Literary Works Selection is a supplementary textbook for The 20th Century Chinese Literature. It includes a total of 76 works (pieces). For the century-long Chinese literature of the 20th century, these works are merely a drop in the ocean. Due to space constraints, except for poems and essays, most of the works are excerpts. We have made every effort to select the most excellent parts, aiming to provide a glimpse of the whole—enabling readers to roughly grasp the style of the authors and their works, while also understanding the basic development of 20th-century Chinese literature. For students taking this course, these works (excerpts) are the basic readings for understanding 20th-century Chinese literature. For literary enthusiasts, these works (excerpts) serve as a tourist map and a six-key key to 20th-century Chinese literature. Those who are passionate about this field can use them as a stepping stone to further explore the depths. The selected works are primarily chosen for their literary value, though some non-essential pieces are included to respect the original context of literary history. To distinguish it from general non-academic selections and facilitate students in reading with questions in mind, we have appended "Reading Reflections" with two or three questions after each work. We aim to transform these suggestive reflection questions into an entry point and a crutch for understanding the works.
