Features: Art criticism, as an object of study in art history, includes critical principles, critical perspectives, and the history of criticism. Actual art criticism, which involves judgments on specific art phenomena, serves as material for the history of art criticism and the history of art criticism studies. Its significance lies in two aspects: first, it hands over selected art creations to art history; second, it hands over a systematized self to the history of thought. Art communication and art criticism have a very close relationship, as communication often embodies the intent of criticism. Broadly speaking, art communication is the same as art education, but the difference lies in that communication mechanisms are less systematic than educational mechanisms. Whether it is art planning, art sponsorship, art exhibitions, or the art market, all are subject to considerable randomness and are largely influenced by cultural trends and economic fluctuations. Therefore, in the study of art communication, the most important thing remains art education. For art history, art pedagogy serves as an intermediary through which art creation and art criticism achieve historical transformation and theoretical elevation. The necessity of researching art pedagogy lies in the fact that art facts have become extremely rich today. The expansion of modern art forms and the marginal exploration of contemporary art have altered the simplicity of art as a spatial art, while globalization has made it easier for art phenomena from ancient and modern, official and grassroots, mainstream and marginal to enter the research field. More importantly, with the development of electronic technology, the world is entering an era where images serve as the primary medium of communication. The rise of image culture has clearly posed more realistic and forward-looking tasks for the study of art. In a sense, art is nothing more than the art of image culture and visual communication. Perhaps, establishing a disciplinary system for art history is the ultimate goal of art history research, but we prefer to believe that this goal always exists within the research process. Therefore, this series aims to present the latest research findings in the field of art history, reflecting the intellectual heights achieved by scholars in the art world in the 21st century.
