Features: The Guanqian Ancient Road reaches Pucheng and then meets another ancient pier. The Dengying Gate was originally a water-side city gate. There are records that say in the past, the Japanese monk Kukai, who was in a state of disarray, entered Fujian through Guanjiao and Pucheng, entering the city via Dengying Gate. Recently, followers of the Japanese Shingon sect have repeatedly formed groups to visit Fujian, making pilgrimages along the way and visiting Dengying Gate multiple times. The Xianxia Ridge is a general term for a vast mountain range spanning over a thousand miles between Jiangshan, Zhejiang, and Pucheng, Fujian. From north to south, it is further divided into: Xianxia Ridge, Xiaoganzheng Ridge, Fengling Ridge, Wuxian Ridge, and Yuliang Ridge. Historical records state, "Within ten thousand miles, there are six ridges and five passes, with Xianxia being the most prominent." The Xianxia Pass is heavily fortified, with its ancient stone steps stacked one atop another. For thousands of years, countless people from Fujian have passed through here, heading north toward broader horizons.
