Qinhuangdao, historically known as Linyu, is located in the northeastern part of Hebei Province. It covers an area of 7,752 square kilometers and has a population of 2.3 million, with 440,000 urban residents. The city is divided into three districts: Haigang, Shanhaiguan, and Beidaihe. It is backed by the eastern end of the Yan Mountains and faces the vast Bohai Sea to the southeast, making it one of China's northern non-frozen. The city boasts beautiful scenery, a cool summer climate, gently sloping beaches with calm tides, and an excellent natural environment, along with numerous historical and cultural relics.
Legend has it that Qinhuangdao was named after Emperor Qin Shi Huang's eastern tour to this area. With a long history and stunning landscapes, it is home to many natural attractions and historical landmarks: the summer resort of Beidaihe, the historic city of Shanhaiguan, and the ancient Meng Jiangnu Temple.
Qinhuangdao has a coastline of 124 kilometers, with soft sandy beaches, gentle waves, and abundant sunshine, making it an ideal seaside resort. In the autumn season, visitors can enjoy the fruit fragrance, savor fresh seafood, watch sunrises, and witness the tide, making the most of their time in this beautiful city.
