Features: This exercise collection is divided into two parts: Part 1 focuses on training finger independence, emphasizing the connection techniques of different fingerings, changes in finger order, and crossing-string methods, suitable for players of all levels. Exercises 1-29 are more suitable for beginners and intermediate players, gradually improving basic finger skills as they master various fingerings. Exercises 30-45 are designed for intermediate and advanced players. For those who have already mastered basic finger techniques, these exercises can effectively address specific technical difficulties in zongzi (Chinese guzheng) pieces regarding finger movements, connections, and crossing strings. Part 2 is tailored to all possible combinations of the thumb, index, middle, and ring fingers of both hands, with each combination offering different rhythmic variations for practice. Players with intermediate to advanced levels, as well as teachers or performers with limited practice time, can work on exercises 1-24, requiring only 30 minutes of daily practice to cover all finger combinations and maintain a certain technical level. Exercise 25 practices all finger combinations on four fixed pitch positions, ensuring each finger gets sufficient activity—a time-efficient yet highly effective exercise. Exercise 26 is designed for practicing tremolo. Exercises 27-36 involve variations in rhythmic patterns, also applicable to exercises 1-24. By practicing rhythmic variations, certain fingers can perform rapid sections while others remain at rest. This repetitive practice of quick movements and rests helps prevent overexertion and enhances finger flexibility.
