Features: In the long-term teaching practice, we have been exposed to and used various versions of application writing textbooks, and we are well aware of their respective strengths and weaknesses. To facilitate teaching and cultivate college students' application writing skills, as well as to improve teaching quality, we compiled this textbook. While drawing on the writing experience of similar textbooks, we also incorporated our own teaching philosophy. Therefore, this textbook has the following characteristics:
1. High starting point and level. Although the current teaching of our college are mainly junior college students, the textbook does not lower the requirements for students. Compared to undergraduate textbooks, the only difference is the focus, not the level. As the saying goes, "Those who learn only get average, and those who teach only get below average." This textbook pursues high standards and strict requirements in all aspects to provide students with a greater space for improvement in writing skills.
2. Strong practicality and targeting. The textbook highlights practicality as its purpose and targeting as its goal, striving to enable students to apply what they learn. The textbook aims to be concise and clear in theory, as well as in key points, while emphasizing practicality and operability. Each type of application writing is taught with its writing methods and requirements, and the weight of example texts is increased so that students can understand the format and methods of application writing from the examples. Especially with the use of a large number of exercises for reinforcement, the learning effect will be more obvious. The special topics attached to each chapter further expand students' thinking space and strengthen their hands-on skills from both depth and practice.
3. Comprehensive types of documents and wide applicability. The textbook is structured to start with the most basic daily affairs documents, then transition to administrative documents commonly used by various agencies, enterprises, and organizations, and further to highly specialized economic (including finance and economics), legal, foreign trade, and academic paper documents. It considers both the progressive learning process and the practical needs of professional settings, catering to the needs of different majors such as secretarial studies, tourism, administrative management, business management, business administration, accounting, foreign trade English, and computer science. It also allows for targeted selection in teaching. The content of the textbook mainly includes an introduction to application writing, as well as the writing methods for common affairs documents, administrative documents, common economic documents, foreign trade and economic documents, and academic papers.
