All parents in China have never met together in a meeting. But many will say similar words: "Child, as long as you do well in your studies, you don’t need to worry about anything else." How terrifying is this national consensus! If the core of education is to cultivate true human beings, then where should we start? This book reveals:
· The core of education is learning to be a person, and cultivating true human beings should begin with habit formation.
· A person’s behavior is largely determined by his habits. Through a subtle habit, one can often analyze a person’s thoughts, style, morals, or level of civilization.
· In terms of children’s education, kindergarten and primary school are key periods for forming habits. We say that the core of education is not to impart knowledge but to cultivate a person’s healthy personality, and good habits are the solid foundation of a healthy personality.
· The key to habit formation lies in the first three days, and it is determined within a month. According to the research of American scientists, it takes 21 days to form a habit.
· The seven steps for cultivating and correcting children’s habits:
A. Recognize the importance of habits
B. Discuss and formulate appropriate behavioral norms with the child and relevant personnel
C. Conduct vivid and moving role-model education
D. Practice persistently
E. Evaluate and guide promptly and scientifically
F. Gradually cultivate a good group atmosphere
G. Use addition to cultivate good habits and subtraction to correct bad habits
