Features: Carl Czerny (1791—1857) was born in Vienna, Austria. He began learning the piano from his father and later studied under Beethoven. He devoted himself to researching the piano teaching methods of his predecessors and became a renowned piano teacher at the age of 15. From 1816 to 1823, he frequently held student recitals at his home, and Beethoven would come to give guidance. Throughout his life, Czerny composed a large number of piano etudes, which, after long-term practical testing, have become compulsory teaching materials in piano education. Czerny's etudes inherit the traditional rules of classical composers while also embodying romanticism. At the same time, his etudes are highly effective in training finger flexibility and independence. Moreover, Czerny's etudes are full of musicality, featuring lyrical adagios, expressive legato passages, exercises in crescendo and diminuendo, and even beautiful cadenzas. Czerny's etudes remain widely adopted as "standard textbooks" in music schools around the world.
