Features: This book is divided into 11 chapters. Chapter 1 mainly includes an overview of third-generation mobile communication, the development history of TD-SCDMA, and the basic parameters and technical characteristics of the TD-SCDMA system. Chapter 2 covers the network structure, interfaces, and evolution of the TD-SCDMA system. Chapter 3 discusses the TD-SCDMA system channels, focusing on physical channels, transport channels, HSDPA channels, and their mapping. Chapter 4 is about the channel coding, interleaving schemes, multiplexing techniques, and rate matching methods of the TD-SCDMA system. Chapter 5 discusses the spread spectrum, scrambling, pulse shaping, and modulation techniques of the TD-SCDMA system, including the generation of various codes used. Chapter 6 explores the smart antenna technology of the TD-SCDMA system, mainly covering the basic principles of smart antennas, adaptive beamforming algorithms for smart antennas, angle-of-arrival estimation for smart antennas, calibration of smart antennas, the implementation of smart antennas in TD-SCDMA systems, and the impact of smart antennas on mobile communication systems. Chapter 7 studies the multi-user detection technology of the TD-SCDMA system, focusing on the propagation model and channel estimation of the TD-SCDMA system, linear joint detection algorithms, the combination of joint detection in TD-SCDMA systems with smart antennas, and the improvement of multi-user detection on the performance of the TD-SCDMA system. Chapter 8 discusses the dynamic channel allocation (DCA) problem of the TD-SCDMA system, involving slow DCA for cell channel assignment, admission control (CAC) DCA during call access, and fast DCA for channel adjustment. Chapter 9 addresses the key processes and measurement parameters of the TD-SCDMA system, particularly some unique processes of the TD-SCDMA system, such as cell selection, uplink synchronization, random access, power control, handover switching, synchronization between base stations, and transmit diversity. Chapter 10 studies the enhanced technologies of the TD-SCDMA system, including high-speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) technology based on adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) technology, hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) technology, and fast cell selection (FCS) technology, as well as MIMO technology centered around the layered space-time coding (BLAST) technology proposed by Bell Labs. In Chapter 11, the key issues and testing technologies for the implementation of the TD-SCDMA system are explored, involving the implementation of mobile terminals, base stations, and network testing. TD-SCDMA is one of the three mainstream standards for international third-generation mobile communication. Due to its narrow required bandwidth, high spectral efficiency, and flexible frequency utilization, it will be widely used in TDD bands worldwide. This book first introduces the technical characteristics, basic parameters, network structure, and physical channels of TD-SCDMA, and then systematically discusses the key technologies of TD-SCDMA, such as channel coding technology, rate matching schemes, spread spectrum and modulation technology, smart antenna technology, multi-user detection technology, dynamic channel allocation problems, and physical layer processing processes. Finally, it conducts research and analysis on the enhanced technologies and key issues of TD-SCDMA system implementation. This book is suitable for researchers and engineering technicians engaged in mobile communication, network design and maintenance management personnel, as well as students and teachers in related fields such as communication and signal processing, electronic science and technology in universities.
