Features: This book includes important design works, unpublished articles, manuscripts, and watercolor paintings by Lin Huiyin, as well as remembrance essays by her children, Liang Zaibing and Liang Congjie, and by colleagues and students of Lin Huiyin. The book also features nearly 200 images, many of which have never been published before, making it highly valuable for collection and historical research. The book is divided into five parts. Part I collects three articles by Lin Huiyin and illustrations of her reference works for the national emblem and industrial and applied art designs. Part II includes commemorative and reflective essays by Lin Huiyin’s children, Liang Zaibing and Liang Congjie, on their mother, along with photographs of Lin Huiyin from various stages of her life, some of which have never been published before. Part III features several articles: one is Professor Wu Liangyong’s commemorative essay Ten Years of Reminiscence of Lin Huiyin, in which Professor Wu Liangyong, one of the founding faculty members of the Department of Architecture at Tsinghua University in the fall of 1946, assisted Lin Huiyin in managing the department’s teaching and administrative work during the period when Liang Sicheng went to the United States; another is Professor Qin Youguo’s essay Lin Huiyin and the Design of the National Emblem, which discusses Lin Huiyin’s historical contributions to the design of the national emblem with detailed archival materials; essays by Mr. Chang Shana, Mr. Qian Meihua, and others can be read in comparison with those in Part I. Parts IV and V include remembrance and commemorative essays by Lin Huiyin’s colleagues, such as Mr. Zheng Xiaoxie and Mr. Luo Zhewen, as well as her students, reflecting on Lin Huiyin’s academic achievements, scholarly spirit, talent, temperament, and appearance. Accompanying the essays, photographs of Lin Huiyin engaged in research on Chinese architectural history and teaching at the Department of Architecture at Tsinghua University are also included. Additionally, Professor Lan Dizhi of the School of Humanities at Tsinghua University has been invited to write a special essay on Lin Huiyin’s poetry and her literary accomplishments.
