After finally getting used to the unimaginative life arranged by Mrs. Douglas, he accidentally became his father's little "prisoner." Fortunately, sometimes the heavens are kind, and the small boat that came along with the flow became his means of escape. Being alone is so lonely, luckily, he met the escaped slave Jim on Jackson Island. The days spent "fleeing" together were not lonely at all. He encountered two super big con artists and watched them perform a ridiculous farce. He saw them pretend to be the late millionaire's own brothers to seize his property. What's hateful is that they even sold the slave Jim. Maybe it's no coincidence, the person who bought Jim turned out to be the aunt of his good friend Tom. So he and the arriving Tom put on a play, fooled the aunt, and rescued Jim. The next day, however, he saw Jim tied up with ropes in the living room again, which made Huck anxious, but Tom seemed unconcerned.
