Features: Passing the postgraduate entrance examination for a Ph.D. program requires English proficiency, which has become a consensus among candidates. To help candidates understand the basic requirements of the Chinese Academy of Sciences' postgraduate entrance English examination and conduct targeted pre-examination intensive training to pass the exam smoothly, we have meticulously compiled this teaching material. Pascal is one of the internationally recognized programming languages and also one of the main languages for computer competition participants. Pascal is powerful with rich data types, and programs written in Pascal have the characteristics of strict structure, elegant format, clear flow, and ease of reading and understanding, making it a preferred language for training structured programming. However, when preparing for competition, we found that there are very few competition teaching materials available for Pascal. The entire book is compiled and edited by Zhang Wenshuang and Wang Xuehong. It is divided into 9 chapters, mainly including: the basics of computers, various data types of Pascal, common statements of Pascal, arrays, procedures, and functions, etc. The book is scientifically selected, rich in content, and aligns with the competition scope, reflecting the spirit of competition. At the same time, its accessible language also brings convenience to the learning of participants.
