Features: As one of the world's oldest military branches, cavalry began to gradually fade from the military stage after the United States and other countries abolished the cavalry as a formal unit in 1960. After several rounds of major military reductions, the Chinese military retained only a few cavalry platoons. Cavalry has now become a specimen of a military branch, and cavalry units have also become a symbol of mystery and legend. This book tells the mysterious and legendary history of the last cavalry platoon in the Chinese military. The work is uniquely structured, with multiple timelines and cross-temporal developments; the language is enigmatic and eerie. The grasslands and cavalry life depicted in the book are both strange and real, such as the incredible bond between horses and humans, the mysterious seer, the old man who studies horse language, the extraordinary emotional connections with animals, the enigmatic history of the grasslands, and the vast and majestic natural environment of the western frontier. All of these elements imbue the work with a sense of mystery and poetic charm. Through the experiences of a cavalry platoon and a group of cavalrymen, this book reflects the historical event of cavalry finally exiting the military stage in the process of military modernization. As one of the most powerful branches in the past, the demise of cavalry is both a historical inevitability and a tragic and heroic spectacle. It is also one of the costs that contemporary military personnel must bear for military modernization. The cavalry personnel who withdrew from the military stage have also made contributions and paid the price for military modernization. Their sacrifices and the hardships they endured embody profound human and artistic value.
